How do you pronounce Mashita and what does it mean? It’s pronounced “mah_sheetda” and translates to mean “It’s delicious!”.
Is this Korean food? Yes. And sometimes no. Our chef was born in Seoul, South Korea, but adopted at a very young age and grew up in the Shenandoah Valley. He likes to take traditional Korean recipes and add a local twist, or take local favorites or family recipes and add a Korean twist. He loves French cooking methods and is inspired by local ingredients, so you will find we have a pretty eclectic menu and specials to please all palates and preferences.
Is the food spicy? For the majority of our dishes, we leave the spice level up to you by providing three different house sauces, ranging in level of spiciness, on the side for you to try. A few things have spicy sauce already on them – Kimchi Fries and Fried Chicken Sandwich – but we can put the sauce on the side if you like.
Do you have options for vegetarians, vegans, or people with celiac? YES! We have vegan and vegetarian menus available, and any items on our full menu that have an asterisk, can be made gluten-free. Just be sure to tell our staff your dietary restrictions so we can help with your order.
Do you have a kids menu? While we do not have a technical kids menu, we have great selections for kids, or anyone who just isn’t very adventurous. Check out our Picky Eaters Menu for suggestions.
Where do we park? If you are picking up takeout, you are welcome to pull in right between the food truck and the restaurant, and run in to pick up your food. If you are dining in, Monday to Friday between 11AM and 5PM, you can use the Liberty Square Park lot off North Liberty St., our small parking lot down the alley right before Horizons store ( on the left-hand side only), the lot across the street between the Clark & Bradshaw and police parking lot, parking decks located on Water St. and Mason St., or any street parking that’s available. AFTER 5PM and on WEEKENDS, you are welcome to park right across the street in the Clark & Bradshaw lots.
Do you accept reservations? YES! We have a small dining room so we are happy to accept reservations anytime.
Do you cater? YES! Check out our Food Truck & Catering page on our website, or contact our Catering Director at mashitacatering@gmail.com for more information.
Do you still use the food truck? YES! We use the truck for catering, festivals, service at vineyards & breweries, etc. We prefer not to take the truck more than 20 miles, and there is a food purchase minimum required to take the truck onsite. Contact our Catering Director at mashitacatering@gmail.com if you are interested in booking.
